The DoW Prostate Cancer, Idea Development Award (IDA) is a federally-funded grant program administered through the Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) that supports innovative, early-stage research ideas addressing prostate cancer. This grant is designed for researchers and investigators passionate about advancing prostate cancer research through novel approaches and groundbreaking concepts. The program actively encourages applications from new investigators—those within 10 years of completing their terminal degree—who bring fresh perspectives to the field, though established investigators are also welcome to apply. New investigators must partner with experienced collaborators in prostate cancer research. All proposals must align with the FY26 PCRP Overarching Challenges to be considered. If you're a researcher with an innovative idea that could significantly impact prostate cancer prevention, detection, treatment, or survivorship, this award offers the opportunity to develop and validate your concept with federal funding support. The program prioritizes creative thinking and transformative approaches that have the potential to make meaningful contributions to prostate cancer research and ultimately improve patient outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career researchers to establish themselves as prostate cancer researchers and for established investigators to explore new directions in the field.
