Single Source: HeartShare 2.0: Refining Heart Failure Subtypes and Treatment Targets for Personalized Clinical Trials - Data Translation Center (U54 Clinical Trial Optional)
About
This is a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for a Single Source that will invites an application from an eligible organization to apply. Please see Section III. Eligibility for additional information. The NHLBI is announcing its intent to issue a single source cooperative agreement to Northwestern University. This NOFO solicits a renewal of the Data Translation Center for an ongoing NHLBI phenomics program, HeartShare, to coordinate the overall project, continue to oversee enrollment of a cohort of patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), curate and analyze prospective deep phenotyping data, and support planning, implementation, and data analysis for clinical trials. In accordance with NIH standard peer-review processes, the application(s) will be peer-reviewed, and only meritorious application(s) will be considered. Companion NOFO RFA-HL-27-008 will support Clinical Centers for recruitment and follow-up of heart failure patients and a Clinical Trial Center for new clinical trial activities.
Single Source: HeartShare 2.0 is a specialized funding opportunity from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) designed to support the continuation and expansion of a critical Data Translation Center for heart failure research. This grant funds organizations selected to coordinate a comprehensive phenomics program focused on refining heart failure subtypes, particularly heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), and identifying personalized treatment targets for clinical trials. The Data Translation Center serves as the organizational hub for patient cohort enrollment, deep phenotyping data curation and analysis, and support for clinical trial planning and implementation. This funding is particularly valuable for research institutions with expertise in cardiovascular disease, data management, and clinical trial coordination. The program emphasizes translating complex heart failure phenotype data into actionable clinical trial designs, making it ideal for organizations positioned to advance precision medicine approaches in cardiology. Successful applicants will contribute significantly to improving heart failure treatment outcomes through better patient stratification and targeted therapeutic development.
