The Metastasis Research Network (MetNet): MetNet Research Projects (U01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
About
The National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Metastasis Research Network (MetNet) is a collection of U54 Research Centers that support using systems-level approaches to understand pressing questions in metastasis. The overall goal of the MetNet is to advance our understanding of metastasis as a whole body, systems-level problem to develop a comprehensive and cohesive picture of the processes involved. Through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), the NCI invites applications for MetNet Research Projects. These Research Projects should be defined as discrete entities that use systems-level approaches to address gaps and opportunities in metastasis research to integrate into the MetNet and complement ongoing research across the Network.
The Metastasis Research Network (MetNet): MetNet Research Projects grant, administered by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), funds discrete research projects that employ systems-level approaches to advance metastasis research. This opportunity is designed for researchers and research institutions seeking to address critical gaps and opportunities in understanding metastasis as a whole-body, systems-level problem. Funded projects will integrate into the MetNet, a collection of U54 Research Centers working collaboratively to develop a comprehensive understanding of metastatic processes. Researchers should note that clinical trial projects are not eligible under this funding mechanism. The grant supports innovative research that complements and enhances ongoing work across the MetNet network. International collaborations and foreign organizations are eligible to apply, making this a truly global research initiative. If you lead a research team focused on metastasis biology, cancer systems research, or related oncology areas, this grant provides significant support to advance your work within a collaborative national network. The funding can reach up to $500,000, enabling substantial research initiatives. Apply by the November 22, 2028 deadline to join this pioneering research network and contribute to transforming our understanding of cancer metastasis.
